With whole-person care in mind, we are excited to offer to the Coeur d’Alene and greater community services that potentiate health in a meaningful way. Yoga and Qi Gong are two forms of movement that have well-studied benefits to physical, mental and emotional health and have been practiced by humans over thousands of years. All classes take place in our downstairs community room at our clinic conveniently located in downtown Coeur d’Alene. For more information on schedule, instructors and cost, please see more information below.
Yoga
What Style of Yoga We Offer
We currently offer Yin-style Yoga on a weekly basis for the greater Coeur d’Alene community. Yin Yoga is meant to be a restorative form of Yoga that is beneficial for all: from athletes to those with limited mobility. Yin Yoga focuses on holding poses for an extended amount of time with numerous props used as support for holding poses comfortably. This allows muscles to elongate along their full length and equates to meaningful releases in the myofascia. We have seen marathon runners shave minutes off of their time through consistent practice, and those with more limited mobility increase significantly their former limits. Yin Yoga is intended to be restorative, nourishing and supportive for every body. For an example of Yin Yoga and to read more, check-out this link.
Our Teacher
We feel fortunate to have Nicole Rainey as our Yoga teacher with her wide breadth of experience, knowledge and passion she brings to each class. Nicole has been a dedicated Yoga practitioner since 2001. Having led over 10,000 hours of group classes, and leading Yoga Teacher Trainings, plus a background in Massage Therapy, she intuitively tailors to the specific, individual needs of her Yoga students. She believes there is more than one right way to do everything, and that Yoga is more than the poses. Add a mix of patience with calculated action, and Nicole believes that even the most novice of Yogis can receive the innumerable benefits from the practice of yoga.
