IV Therapy & Injections

At CDA Acupuncture & Holistic Healing, we offer intravenous (IV) and intramuscular (IM) nutrient therapy at medically therapeutic doses. We believe we offer some of the highest quality IVs in the areas based off of the quality of ingredients used, amount used and the expertise of our nursing staff. Our IV menu offers a variety of IVs to suit many needs, and we are frequently adding to our expanding IV menu offerings. We can also modify our IV menu offerings to match the need of our patient. You can view our full menu here.

IV and IM nutrient therapy are potent tools to receive high doses of targeted nutrients that are directly absorbed into the circulation. For those with sensitive gastrointestinal systems or malabsorption, IV nutrient therapy is a way to bypass the GI system for immediate absorption.

There are a variety of conditions that can benefit from IV therapy, including chronic pain, immune system support or recent/current viral illness, low energy, enhanced athletic performance, stamina and recovery and many more. We would love to help you figure out if nutrient IV or IM therapy is the best route for your health and wellness goals.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Is it better to get IV or IM nutrients?

When you take a supplement by mouth, you are only absorbing about 25% of it and that is only if you have a healthy digestive system. When you receive an intramuscular injection, you absorb about 75%. Intravenous (IV) is the most effective way to receive nutrients, as it allows to absorb 100% of the infused nutrients into the cells. As mentioned above, it does bypass the GI system for more efficient and immediate absorption as well through IV administration.

Do I need to see a physician before receiving an IV for medical clearance?

The majority of our IVs are well tolerated and are able to be received without seeing one of our physicians. There are a few exceptions, such as: high dose vitamin C, chelation, and Venofer (IV Iron for low iron and ferritin levels). This is because we want to be able to determine the best treatment plan for you by looking at your recent lab work. If you are unsure of what IV or IM may be the best for you, our nurse can help you select based on your goals for treatment.

What are the side effects?

As with anything related to medicine and health, side effects are possible. The type of IV would determine the kind of side effects seen. Our nurse will discuss you of the side effects for your specific IV. While IV and IM infusions are generally safe and come with minimal side effects, rarely, allergic reactions can occur. In this case, the IV nutrients would be stopped and we have on-site anti-histamines, epinephrine, and other emergency equipment. Be assured that our nursing staff will do an intake and walk you through the process if it is your first time receiving IV or IM nutrient therapy. Your health and safety are our priority! Please call us if you have any questions.
